27th May 2006 - Daturas master-class
There was the first meeting of people playing didgeridoo on the 27th May 2006 in Yekaterinburg. It was Daturas master-class. Voice and rhythmically resonant breathing of Yidaki-Master, who was a native some years ago but now a foreign one, were listened to by scores of attentive ears and eyes.
There were mixed didges. Someone carried coals to Newcastle (brought their own didges and it was great), others heard nothing about an unknown musical Australian instruments played at ritual ceremonies. But every one as much as one could tried to follow the instructions being given by Guru Datura. Looking at such a tube at Daturas hands they could not but follow. What would have happen if Great Master had got angry and brandished? But as a whole the meeting was fruitful and positive.
Almost all the questions were properly answered. Solo moralizing compositions were attentively listened to and applauded.
Generally speaking there was a lot of pleasure and benefit and Id like to thank Yurlungur, Australia, aborigines, termites and Datura for benefit and pleasure mentioned above. |
